When I first decided that I was going to start using my web design skills to make an income I didn’t know what I was doing. Of course I had my previous work experience that kind of prepared me to be a freelancer. However, that wasn’t enough.
See, I use to work for a television network. I worked with the in-house creative team, which was within the Marketing Department and we handle all of the off-air creative or print creative for the company. Our “clients” were the other departments within the company.
That’s similar to how you work as a freelancer. You can work within a company or you can work for several companies on your own. When I began my own journey I had to handle everything for myself.
Since my first love is technology and I love to knowledge, I made Google my best friend. I also created a Twitter account, started blogging under my real name and networking online. It was a very long, hard and tedious process.
Looking back I wish that there were something that I could have gotten my hands on to make things a little easier. I am not talking about something to make it a complete cakewalk, but just something to help steer me in the right direction.
I know that the best rewards come from seeds you plant and harvest yourself. Sometimes you need to know which seeds are best to plant and what’s the best season to plant them in. This is why I created the Startupreneur Resource Directory.
It is not an eGuide full of tools that I only use. That wouldn’t work. It is full of every tool that I have come across that provides services you need from the starting stages and beyond. I choose to include a variety of tools because what works for me may not work for you.
I can make a separate eGuide for that just with tools that I use if you want.
Be sure to join the Creativepreneur Hub for those goodies like that.
I want to help you dodge a few potholes on your path of starting your side hustle or business. Of course I have added my two cents and because I want you to learn from my mistakes. And believe me I made quite a few of them.
Here’s so more advice. Go download the eGuide and take what you want from it and dismiss what you don’t.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s inside.
Did I forget to mention, I’m given it away for free. Yes, FREE! Be sure to create an account or join the mailing list so you are notified when future update of the eGuide and other products. As I keep learning I will keep sharing.
